Chipotle Scandal
P.S.A to all those Chipotle lovers/ stock owners! In case you haven't heard yet, since the middle of October a substantial amount of Chipotle chains have been forced to shut down in the states of Washington and Oregon. It all started on October, 14th when people throughout the Clackamas counties of Washington and Oregon began feeling sick. As the sickness began to spread throughout the neighboring areas local health experts began to raise questions. The Oregon Health Authority spokesman, Jonathon Modie was the main contributor to the national public radios article on the topic. The experts working with Modie have identified this sickness as E-coli. The outbreak later being linked to The Chipotle's nearest these areas have now caused 43 Chipotle's to close. So whether you are financially or emotionally invested in this restaurant keep your eyes open for the latest in this evolving story.

This food chain scandal resonated with me a lot because all my friends love chipotle and always want to go, but personally I do not like it and I'm sure they do not know about this issue that recently began. Food industries are actually disgusting when it comes to health codes so I appreciate the notice about this because that ensures I will not be going there any time soon.
ReplyDeleteWow! Good thing I've never been back to chipotle! Not because of the food was gross, but because I knew it was too good to be true. Do you guys think we'll have any issues here in Michigan?

ReplyDeleteI am happy I could help undecided team. I've worked in a restaurant before so I totally know where your coming from with the whole heath code thing. Its unfortunate though, because I myself am a Chipotle lover.
ReplyDeleteMechanically inclined I might just have to agree with you about it being too good to be true because it sure is really good! So far the outbreak has been kept just inside Washington and Oregon, but you never know. We are unaware of the odds it makes it to Michigan, but from a geographical stand point I feel that we shouldn't have to worry too much, I highly doubt chains in the Midwest receive products from the same distributor as the chains in those states.
